Hi everyone, Just an update on the Pilot Project on Worship Leadership. It is set to go ahead soon once all the protocols are in place. From their side it is a research project into new models for people to see and lead Lutheran worship which are not purely Pastor-centred and the changes in attitudes and focus that accompanies this. From our side - it's the opportunity to equip some lay people in fundamentals of what 'Lutheran worship' is and isn't. What can be left out / changed, and what should be there so we don't compromise on our core values & theology. Learning what resources are available and how to access them; and a few other things. There will be 36 participants across two areas/parishes and part of the course is for those in an area to get together and reflect on what they've heard and found; and explore together. Hence it gives an opportunity to network; learn skills for the ongoing discussions and possible help toward a new model for going forward. One thought presented was an encouragement of team leadership also when a pastor is present - (so there is more consistency between times when the pastor is present and absent). I have asked for a brochure outlining all the details; commitment; process etc. which will be coming (soon, I hope). So in the next few weeks we need to decide on suitable people to participate from here. Please use this space to add your thoughts. Plus thoughts on: Who do you think would be best to follow this up? BSLG? or Exec?

As you get ideas to include in the discussion of our Way Forward re: finances &/or models of ministry, (so we can continue to Grow in Christ and share His love in the community - and increasingly be known for this in our community) - share them here:
